Karl Marx

Karl Heinrich Marx had many occupations; German philosopher, economist, sociologist, historian, journalist and revolutionary socialist. This single man’s ideas played an important role in the making of social science and social movement. He was born on May 5, 1818 and died March 14, 1883. Marx had various theories regarding politics, society and economics and published many books. This German philosopher was critical against capitalism and called it, “dictatorship of the Bourgeoisie”. He believed this was to be run by the wealthy for their own benefit. His predictions were that the inevitably would produce internal tensions which would lead to replacement by a new system called socialism. If this was correct, he believed this would then be replaced by communism. Believing in both socialism and communism, Karl Marx argued that both social theorists and underprivileged people should bring about socio-economic change.
